Winter Solstice is the darkest time of year, when the nights are the longest and deep mystery cloaks the earth. The sun, metaphorically speaking, is residing in the underworld. Many of the celebrations this time of year focus on the rebirth of the light, and a few acknowledge the great mystery of the deep feminine night sky, with her yin energy of darkness, stillness, and nurturance. At Winter Solstice the mother is tending to the small and delicate spark of light embodied in the tender infant. In the ancient world, many goddesses represented the vast cosmos, and many of them gave birth to the divine sun child on December 25. Many of us know this goddess by the name of Mary, and in this course we are blessed with a channeling of Mother Mary that came through my friend and colleague PATI SCAMMACCA. Please visit her website at www.SpiritCommunicationServices.com.
On the cosmic level, the night sky goddess holds the sun child in her dark womb. On the earthly level, the Mother Earth gestates the seed in her dark womb cave. In addition to honoring the cosmic sky goddess and the deep earth goddess, Winter Solstice is the time to honor the wise crone goddess of the forests. Many of the pagan peoples of northern Europe saw Mother Nature in her winter aspect as a white-haired crone shape-shifting out from forest trees. Another powerful symbol of Winter Solstice is the Santa Shaman. In this course you will see how our image of Santa is greatly inspired by the Siberian Shamanic tradition. In the Winter Solstice journey you merge with the Santa Shaman and travel with him on his magical journey.
