This painting explores different dimensions of reality. The seeker clothes herself in sacred robes and travels to the desert at the time of the setting sun. Finding a spot by the river, she sets up a sacred mandala as a container for her energies.
Using her medicine shield with its four eagle feathers, she calls in the four directions to guide her vision. As darkness descends, she journeys into dreamtime and is visited by the spirits of the dove and the panther who give her teachings about gentleness and the right use of power. She awakens to find a rose at her feet. Breathing in its holy fragrance, she knows that all is well.
