Copia was the Roman goddess of abundance, the earth mother who brought forth a bounty of fruits, flowers and grain for the well-being and prosperity of all. In this image she is depicted with her symbol the cornucopia, or "horn of plenty". In her namesake village in southern Italy the fertile earth provided a life of beauty and luxury for all to share.
