Aine is one of the great goddesses of Ireland, who was known as "Queen of the Fairies" in Munster County. The Fairy Goddess Mother, as we know her from folk tales, came to us through the ancient pagan fairy tradition.
Fairies are nature spirits, so what became the "Queen of the Fairies" was originally the great goddess mother, who was, of course, Mother Nature. Here we see her as the Triple Goddess.
As crone she is the great old bare tree of wintertime. Her energy is as expansive as the sky, a manifestation of the "Queen of Heaven". As mother she is the evergreen tree, steady and nurturing as the Tree of Life. In her maiden form she is manifesting as a spring elf, watching the flowers grow.
